These were either done with Audacity (yes the music making program) or just by screwing around with the file in a hex editor, making them more glitch art then the pixel sortin.
This one came from a Rolls Royce photo shoot so it kind of counts

first two are the best. they still allow you to see the car but are nicely abstracted.
